One of Portugal's prominent striker Ricardo Quaresma was not included in the final 23-man squad of Portugal who will be playing in the world's most prestigious sporting event, the World Cup 2014 in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

The 30-year-old footballer already missed the 2006 and 2010 edition of the game, despite the fact that he made it to the provisional list of 30 announced players last week. He was unluckily included in the last seven players who were axed by Portugal's coach Paulo Bento.

Portuguese forward Nani made it to the final list of official players who will represent Portugal in the competition, although he was unimpressive on his stint with Premier League team Manchester United.

The other six to miss out were goalkeeper Anthony Lopes (Olympique Lyon), defenders Antunes (Malaga) and Rolando (Inter Milan), midfielders Andre Gomes (Benfica) and Joao Mario (Vitoria Setubal) and forward Ivan Cavaleiro.

The Portuguese national football team to the World Cup includes 11 players from 2010 squad who played during the last World Cup.

Real Madrid superstar and veteran Portuguese campaigner Cristiano Ronaldo lead Portugal to the 2014 World Cup.

Here's the Complete Line-Up of Team Portugal:
